twitterapi.io
The best-known independent X API and the only one here that meters strictly per item returned, so a thin page costs less than a full one and a dense query costs more; 75+ endpoints, write actions, a filtered stream and a $0.00015 floor on every call. The catch is that it is the dearest per tweet in this set at $0.15 per 1,000, its follower pricing only reaches the headline $0.01/1K when you pull a full 200-item page, and the subscription it advertises has no printed price.

List prices, dollars per 1,000 tweets at the cheapest published route to each volume. How this is worked out
Every published plan
| Plan | Price | Included credits | Overage each | Note |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pay as you go | $0 per month | 0 | $0.0000 | "Pay as you go, no minimum spend required." Overage here is the USD value of one credit ($1 / 100,000). Higher recharge amounts "get bigger discounts (up to 5% off)" and every recharge adds bonus credits valid 30 days; the discount ladder itself is not printed on the pricing page. |
| Subscription | on request | - | not published | The pricing page advertises "Save more with a subscription - recharge bonus + monthly credit return on top of the per-call prices below" but prints no subscription price or allowance. |
Priced in credits, and "1 USD = 100,000 Credits", so 15 credits is $0.00015 and 18 credits is $0.00018. The pricing page's CREDIT_USAGE table prints 15 credits "Per returned Tweet", 18 credits "Per returned Profile", 1-3 credits per returned follower or following item and 0.45-2 credits per returned follower ID. Followers and following are tiered by how many the call returns: 3 credits each at 20-99, 2 each at 100-199, 1 each at 200 (max), so the 1 recorded here is the best case at a full 200-item page. Follower IDs are a separate cheaper endpoint at 2 credits (50-199), 1 credit (200-3,999) and 0.45 credits (4,000-5,000) per ID. Every call carries a "Minimum $0.00015 (15 Credits) per API call (waived for bulk data responses)"; the worked example says a call returning 0 or 1 tweet still costs 15 credits. From October 1st, "List function calls: $0.0015 (150 Credits) per API call".
